Position: Evaluation Consultant for Legal Service Program

Compensation: Up to $19,500 for 12 months, based on experience

API Legal Outreach is the largest social justice legal organization focused on the Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, and immigrant communities of the Greater Bay Area and the Central Valley. A growing community-based organization founded in 1975, our mission is to provide culturally competent and linguistically appropriate direct services to the most marginalized segments of our community including low-income women, seniors, immigrants, and youth. With offices in Oakland and San Francisco, our work is focused in the areas of Gender-based Violence, Immigration and Immigrant Rights, Disability Rights, Senior Law and Elder Abuse, Anti-Human Trafficking, Youth Violence Prevention, Anti API Hate Violence, the preservation of affordable housing and small businesses, and other social justice issues.

Position Overview

The Evaluation Consultant will be responsible for evaluating the outcomes and effectiveness of our legal service program for survivors of human trafficking. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program evaluation, particularly within legal or human rights contexts, and possess the skills necessary to analyze data and produce actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of legal services provided to survivors of human trafficking.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to inform program improvements.
  • Produce detailed evaluation reports and presentations for stakeholders, including funders and partners.
  • Provide recommendations for enhancing program delivery and outreach efforts.
  • Work closely with legal teams and program staff to integrate evaluation findings into strategic planning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Law, Human Rights, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience in program evaluation, particularly in legal services or human rights initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
  • Familiarity with issues related to human trafficking and survivor-centered approaches.
  • Familiarity with the California Office of Emergency Services.
  • Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively.
